i5 Services Advisory Board

Alan Davis is the Founding Member and President of i5 Services. For the last 15 years Alan Davis has been helping companies like Wal-mart, British Airways, RiteAid, PepBoys, Overland West, and Headwaters set and exceed recovery, savings, and improvement goals. The largest project recovered $40 million per year and deterred over $120 million of loss annually. Alan started i5 Services with the goal of helping many companies reach comparable results. His background in technology and finance has helped him excel in global operations management, strategic planning, P&L accountability, executive level program management, and multi-function initiative leadership. He has directed business transformation, process improvement and BPR, BPO and off-shoring, and business and IT alignment including thought leadership participation for governance models.

Dennis Johnson is the President and CEO of Smith Johnson Group, a successful IT Services company. He has over 30 years of IT experience, and serves on various IT Boards of Directors including SIM, and ITT. Dennis organized Smith Johnson & Associates Company in 1989. He has provided enterprise development and consulting services to Insurance, Manufacturing, Retail, Wholesale, and Government entities from 1989 to 1995. In 1995, he expanded the company, and began providing IT services to companies in the Western United States and Hawaii.



Eric Gardner graduated from the University of Utah. He served in the United States Air Force for 4 1/2 years, separating after attaining the rank of Captain. He joined Deloitte LLP as a Certified Public Accountant and worked there for 4 1/2 years. He left to become Comptroller, and then Treasurer, of Terracor, a Utah land development company purchased by Leucadia National Corporation. He supervised the application by Leucadia National Corporation for a bank charter after the charter was approved by the OCC. Eric served as President of American Investment Bank, N.A. for 14 years. He retired from American Investment Bank, and joined Board of Directors of CIT Online Bank, a Utah Industrial Loan Corporation owned by CIT Group Inc. He consulted with WellPoint Inc. for a new Utah Industrial Loan Corporation. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of ARCUS Bank, the Utah Industrial Loan Corporation owned by WellPoint Inc. and I5 Services LLC. Eric served as mission president for the LDS church from 2002 to 2005.

J. Michael Berg is Vice President and General Manager of Traco Manufacturing, Inc and a member of their Board of Directors. Traco's mainstream business flows through a network of distributors and resellers. Their core products are shrink film and machines. Mike is responsible for all aspects of the company including sales, operations, marketing, accounting, and finance. He directed UPD from its inception to the success it is today. Earlier in his career, Mike was a part of the explosive grow phase at Novell which went from $18M to $1.6B annually. Mike holds a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Brigham Young University.


Ken Anderson is past member of the Utah State Legislature. He has invested over 40 years in real estate development and management, including experience in residential and commercial projects in Utah, Idaho and California. For over 35 years, he has served as CEO of Andersen Real Estate Investments Company, a commercial investment brokerage firm. His other activities include: Advisor, Sigma Gamma Chi Fraternity at the University of Utah, community service volunteer for various organizations, including The United Way, Guadalupe Center, Jordan River Parkway and the Utah Food Bank, and years of ecclesiastical service and leadership.



Niel Nickolaisen is the CIO at Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, Utah. Prior to this, he served as Vice President of Strategy and Innovation at Energy Solutions, Inc. He has held technology executive and operations positions, typically in turnaround roles. His strategic and tactical alignment model significantly improves returns on technology and business initiatives. He holds an MS in Engineering from MIT, a BS in Physics from Utah State University, and an MBA from Utah State University. He writes an enterprise CIO column for TechTarget and is the co-author of an Addison Wesley book on Agile Leadership. CRN Magazine named Niel one of the top 25 IT Executives of 2008. Niel is also one of the founders of Accelinnova, a think tank focused on improving organizational and IT agility.
